Julie Redmond: Owner, Designed by the BrideI'm Julie and I graduated from Shepherd University with an AA in Graphic Design in 2005. I then started my own event decorating business, Design Diva. This is also the year I became a bride by marrying my wonderful husband Cliff. Since then I've been working on my business as well as working with a local event florist.
Alicia Viehmann: Owner, Designed by the BrideI'm Alicia and I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2007 with a B.S. in Chemistry. Currently, I am working as an analytical chemist for a pharmaceutical company in Maryland. I'm getting married in October 2009... and that is how we came to create Designed by the Bride.
We have been best friends since Kindergarten and since Julie works with a florist she offered to do the flowers for my wedding. So, one evening we were talking about what flowers, how many, colors, ribbons, etc. I had no idea there was so much involved and thought there had to be a website where I could just design it. I searched everywhere and didn't find anything helpful. I told Julie that she should start her own website; there had to be more people like me who can't picture how flowers and cakes will look! So after doing some extensive research and creative planning our website, designedbythebride.com, is up and running!
We hope that our website serves its purpose - to allow you to design and visualize different aspects of your wedding. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or suggestions you may have, we are open to everything! Planning a wedding can be overwhelming; this website will give you a sneak preview of your big day, so relax and enjoy your time as a bride-to-be!
